The Best of Both Worlds, 01-11-16
Captain: Karen Siegel, Castine, Maine
“Stock Island Marina Village offers the best of both worlds. The facilities are modern with all the amenities you need. The staff is friendly, professional, and ready to help. There’s a great dog park on the property for the four-footed crew members with shade trees, benches, cleanup station, and friendly dogs. A casual bar and grill on site offers an easy night out. The setting is great for an extended stay.
It gives you a calm setting away from the excitement of downtown Key West but with a shuttle that will run you into town and back. We used it to walk the streets, go out for lunch and dinner, and enjoy the many things that are Key West. Then we returned for a quiet night. An added plus is the shuttle will drop you at Publix for shopping and pick you up a half hour later on their return run.
There are also rentals bikes available for a run to the stores along N Roosevelt or downtown with wide sidewalks along the way. If you wish to party into the night there are plenty of taxis to bring you home.
Make sure to check out their fuel prices. We found them to be the best price since northern Florida. The fuel dock is right along the channel making it easy to pull into before going to your slip. We took advantage of the price and easy access to top off our tanks.
We found this a perfect stop for our four week stay. We like it even better as a jumping off point for Cuba – maybe on our next visit!”
Key West Race Week, 11-12-15
Captain: Ted Estep, Kemah, Texas
“Came into Key West from the Dry Tortugas not knowing it was race week! Called the marina and they had a slip for us people on the dock to help get in and tied up. Free shuttle downtown running every 3 hours from 10 tom 10. New clean and quite. Stayed at Key West Bight couple of years ago and this place is sooo much nicer. Won’t stay anywhere else in Key West next time”
Great all the way around, will be back!, 10-08-15
Captain: Kevin Flanagan, Blanco, TX
“For starters, the ease coming in and out of this marina is a huge plus, had 2 guys waiting for us to help us into our slip, extremely courteous, helpful and comfortable to work with. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure that any questions are answered and addressed if needed. The facilities were top notch, very very clean restrooms, laundry and property. They have a shuttle that goes into town 3 times a day and extra bonus(which we loved), the shuttle will drop you off at Publix and pick you up 30 minutes later after the trip to town, perfect provisioning setup for not having a car. Two great restaurants easy bike ride away. Loved having the option to get into town into the crazy ‘Key West’ atmosphere yet have a nice quiet marina to call home. All in all, overall great, and will return!”
Seminole Wind, 05-26-15
Captain: Alan Ryall, Jersey UK
“We have been regular visitors to key west after sailing Seminole Wind from the UK last year. there’s lots to love here but generally the marinas in town are not on the list. We normally anchor off or go round to Garrison Bight simply because the marinas are too frenetic, noisy and expensive. We were heading up to Biscayne but strong easterly headwinds persuaded us to delay for a day and so we swung round to Stock Is to give us a head start. What a surprise – it’s quiet, friendly, safe, the infrastructure is all new, top quality pontoons and there’s a shuttle into town. Everything you need is here, facilities are great and we were made to feel like old friends so guess what – i think we will become old friends. This will become our stop off on the way from our base in Naples to the east coast, Bahamas and Caribbean so see you on the way back guys.”
Can’t say enough good about this place, 03-18-2015
Captain: Michael L. Dyer, Wilmington, NC
“We stayed here from January 12, 2015 to March 10. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The clean the water with nets each day. They pump out your boat each week if you want automatically and if you need it will come around any other time. The shuttle that goes into Key West is 5 times a day (free) and very punctual. The depth of water at our slip was 20 feet. Easy access to the ocean.”
If The Keys Are Your Oyster, Stock Island Marina Is The Pearl, 03-09-2015
Captain: George F Sherrier, Bayville, NJ
“We recently visited Key West. On our way down while stopped in Boot Key we were deciding where to go in Key West and people we were talking to mentioned Stock Island Marina. We never were here before but decided to try it out. Great Place. It is very well run and friendly. It has everything you need in a marina and more. Restaurants within walking distances, clean showers and restrooms, general store, floating docks, and the best part is free shuttle to food mart and downtown Key West. So you have the best of two worlds quiet marina and wild night life. This place was a great find.”
